Journey "under the sea" with Ariel and her aquatic friends in Disney's The Little Mermaid JR., adapted from Disney's Broadway production and the motion picture. Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories, Disney's The Little Mermaid JR. is an enchanting look at the sacrifices we all make for love and acceptance. In a magical underwater kingdom, the beautiful young mermaid, Ariel, longs to leave her ocean home — and her fins — behind and live in the world above. But first, she'll have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, and convince the handsome Prince Eric that she's the girl whose enchanting voice he's been seeking. Adapted from Disney's 2008 Broadway production, Disney's The Little Mermaid Jr features the hit songs "Part of Your World," "She's in Love," and the Oscar®-winning "Under the Sea."
Rehearsal Schedule:
All rehearsals and performances will be held at our new Eugene location: 2101 Bailey Hill Road (between Fitness 1440 and ATOS NW Jiu Jitsu)
Rehearsals begin Tuesday, September 16
Tuesday/Thursday 6:30-8:30pm
Friday 5:30-7:30pm
Sundays (9/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/2, 11/16, 11/23) 1:00-5:30pm
No rehearsal: 10/31, 11/27, 11/28
On any given rehearsal day, cast members may be called for the full rehearsal call, a portion of the day’s schedule, or none of the day’s scheduled rehearsal - depending on what songs or scenes we will be working on that day. In general, Tuesdays will be choreography rehearsals, Thursdays will be vocal rehearsals, Fridays will be blocking rehearsals, and our Sunday rehearsals can include a little bit of everything.
Finalized rehearsal schedules will be posted two days in advance.
Rehearsal Schedule Conflicts:
The following dates are required for participation in The Little Mermaid JR. and conflicts will not be accepted:
Sunday, November 23 Rehearsal
Tuesday, November 25 Rehearsal
Monday-Thursday, December 1-4 Tech week rehearsals
Friday-Sunday December 5-7 and 12-14 Performances
If your cast member has a conflict with any of those dates, they aren’t eligible to participate in this production.
Cast families must respond to the Rehearsal Conflict Survey before casting and declare any conflicts with the published rehearsal schedule. Cast members may have a limited number of pre-approved rehearsal conflicts and still have a successful experience if those conflicts are submitted before casting.

ALL CAST FAMILIES MUST RESPOND TO THE REHEARSAL CONFLICTS SURVEY no later than Wednesday, September 10.

The Little Mermaid JR - Performances
No conflicts accepted - cast members must be available for all performances
The Little Mermaid JR will be double-cast. This means that most roles will be played by two different actors. For example, one actor will play Ariel in the Flotsam Cast and a different actor will play Ariel in the Jetsam cast. In the opposite cast those actors will play roles in the ensemble. All cast members will perform in both casts but they may play different roles in the Flotsam Cast vs. the Jetsam Cast.

Call times for performances are typically 1.5 hours before the show begins. Note: When we return for our second Friday performance we will call actors 2.5 hours before the show begins so we have time to review - in lieu of a pick-up rehearsal.

Tickets for The Little Mermaid JR will go on sale Monday, September 22 at our online box office.
Parent Volunteer Hours:
Principal cast families are required to volunteer at least 8 hours for this production or to buyout the required volunteer hours at $15 per hour. Volunteer opportunities include helping make costumes, set painting, set building, costume or prop shopping, providing supervision at dress rehearsals and performances, ushering, selling concessions, etc.
Costume Fittings:
Cast families will need to sign up for two costume fitting appointments. The first fitting will be held on Saturday, October 4. The second fitting will be held on Saturday, November 8. Re-scheduling individual actor fittings is difficult, and must align with the costumer's limited availability. Please prioritize attending costume fittings on their originally scheduled dates if at all possible. A link to signup for costume fittings will be included with the audition information in your enrollment confirmation email.
Auditions:
You will receive an email enrollment confirmation when you complete registration for Little Mermaid JR. In the enrollment confirmation email there will be a link included to a Google Doc with the full audition instructions and a link to sign up for your individual audition and the group auditions. Individual audition appointments will be available September 8, 9, or 10 in the evenings. These are individual 10 minute appointments. Group auditions will be held on September 11 5:00-8:30pm. Remember, individual auditions are for placement only. YOU ARE IN THE CAST OF The Little Mermaid JR!
If you aren’t able to attend in-person, individual auditions, you will have the option to record a video audition and send it in by email.
